Help with cp not normal
My blade has been acting wierd. When I turn it on it initializes and when I give it throttle it spins up but it doesnt lift off I go all the way to red light comes on it still doesnt come off the ground. The battery is fully charged and the 4 in 1 is ok but i dont know what the problem is the pitch is ok to.

RE: Help with cp not normal
Main motor is probably gone, they don't last long especially if you're using lipo's.

RE: Help with cp not normal
If the main motor is going bad will it still spin up?

RE: Help with cp not normal
yep

RE: Help with cp not normal
I have the same problem with my first CP. After a total rebuild all it does is scoot around on the ground.
Building up another from the ARF version, and using the same motor, this one does what it's supposed to. ??? The setups appear identical, other than Plasti-blades on the first one. Using repaired wooden blades on the second one. Same radio, same Nimh. |
RE: Help with cp not normal
there are two possibilitys....bad main motor, or your pitch is messed up. I would verify your pitch with a pitch gauge first because usally if the motor is going you will notice less power before it wont even lift off.

I clamped the CP to a bench at the field, and ran up the motor.. I got these blade angles at somewhat less than max rpm... (the tailwind was making the rotor kinda wobbly).. 1/3200 th of a second exposure.
The thing -should- able to lift off with that much blade angle.. |
RE: Help with cp not normal
Well, not neccessarily, seeing as you should be getting +4-7 degrees. That must be your problem.

RE: Help with cp not normal
Yeah with that much pitch and possibly a weak/worn-out main motor, it would be hard to leave the ground. That's alot of drag. I know this may sound stupid, but make sure the the main rotor is rotating clockwise. Maybe the motor lead got switched around [sm=confused.gif]

RE: Help with cp not normal
You should have the same pitch on both blades too. Being out by that much, they aren't going to have good tracking at all. Goto http://bladecprepair.com/ to see how to set the pitch correctly.
