RE: gyro

Yeah you can use a gyro with a tail motor driven tail, but are you talking about the CPP? Because the only known gyros that work with the CP+ and CPP are the G90 and G110. But if you use a brushed speed controller for the tail motor then you can use any gyro you want.

Nick not trying to undermine your info here but the Telebee will work just fine also. I am currently running one on my FP heli but I am using an Eflight CPP 3-1 for the mixer and the GWS DD tail. Works great and is cheaper than the eflight gyros.

Uri,

Thanks for the info. I just have never heard of anyone using the Telebee gyro before. But I do know the Futaba GY240 and 401 will not work.

Is there no way to set up gy240 using the stock esc on CP Pro? Do you know why this can't be done?

You can use a GY240, but you have to have a brushed ESC connected to the tail motor and the throttle connector of that plug into the gyro. With out that brushed speed controller the tail motor RPM's won't be consistant in a way that the tail can be controlled. I don't know why it doesn't work, but me and a few other people couldn't get the GY240 or GY401 to work with the 3in1.

Me too, my CPP became unstable past 1/2 throttle and when I hit 3/4 it just gets out of control. I played around with the proportional gain on the stock esc from 0 to 100% and it didn't help too. If a brushed motor esc is the only solution, do you have any recommendations which one to use that best fits the CPP without burning pockets? Cos I intend to save up for a trex 250 also.

RE: gyro

This is the ESC I used when I had my CPP with a GY240.

Just unplug the red wire out of the throttle connector on this ESC before plugging it in the GY240.
