help pick a plane
Hello everyone. I recently got a sky scooter from servo city with a direct drive setup and i have put about as much money as i care to put in it to try to make it fly well. the last setup was a 3:1 ratio with 9x7 prop and a 7 cell 650 mah battery and its still completely unimpressive. So, i am looking for a new plane.
I was wondering if there is a good aerobatic plane out there for under $100? I have the electronics, but i would like the plane to come with a motor. I really hate feeling like i wasted so much money on the scooter and i dont want to do it again, so i need your help. also, what is the difference between aerobatic and 3D?
thanks

Hey Brian... there are alot of choices out there for acrobatic planes.. your best bet is to check out some of the online sites like hobby lobby or northeast sailplane products. NEsail sells a great little plane called the Roto for 79 bucks...comes with the engine and is easy to build....3D is the plane using engine power for flight...rather than the wings that would traditionally keep it up...!

Brian- a surprisingly good aerobat electric ARF is the Crazy Max by Watt-age. It is small, comes with a 370 geared motor, and is quick to build. I have one, flew it last summer. The only drawback is that it is a homely looking model, but it can do lots of aerobatics (not 3-D hover stunts). If you can handle a small aileron tail dragger, this can be a lot of fun. Another good flier is the Electra-Jet- I have been flying one. It is a delta with elevon control, so aerobatics requiring rudder are out, but it does fast axial rolls, inverted, loops, stall-turns, etc. It is an ARF with 380 geared motor- some go for around $50 on E-bay.
