Crazy Sparrow - Your Thoughts?
Good Morning All
I am new to e-flight, lots of experience with conventional a/c. I have just purchased a CRAAZY SPARROW. Very nice looking aircraft, and I have seen the video seems to fly very well. anyone out there had any experience with one of these?, any thoughts or flying / construction tips would be most helpful
Thanking you in advance

I had one when I first started out in this hobby. It is very agile! My only complaint is the foam is soft and dents easily. That is the only negative have. Let's face facts...it is a faom model so there is a limited life span to this model. But the flying that you will experience is a lot of fun!!!! Very light wing loading. I would brace the landing gear a little better than what the plans call for. Foam wheels should replace the plastic ones included in the kit. Lithium cells will make this bird sing!!!!!!

RE: Crazy Sparrow - Your Thoughts?
I recently retired my Crazy Sparrow after a year of solid service. It was my first aileron plane. I set mine up with the power 350 (sp300 w/5:1 GB), and a 9x6 APC slowflyer prop. I was getting 6 minutes of flight time from 8 cell 830mah NiMh and 12-15 using my 3s1p 1200mah LiPoly pack. I reinforced the landing gear & landing ger mount using carbon fiber and epoxy and never had a problem. Several people have made the Sparrow a belly flopper.
I loved the way it looks and flys.
Oh...one other modification. I used a 3/32" carbon fiber rod and epoxied it along the balsa spar inside the wing prior to putting the wing halves together. A little over kill.
Other than that, I had read a thread recommending that I dial back the elevator throw a little or use some exponential n the radio since it the elevator can be a little overpowering at slow speeds and cause a stall condition.

Wow...lots of info! This makes me want another one! What about one of those outrunner bushless motors like Hobby lobby offers powered by L-polies? That would be awesome! I too like the looks of the Sparrow ..... all of Flying Styro's planes look so cool to me.
