Default Batt question

I'm new to this. I want to know if I should have a separate batt for just my electronics. And one just for the motor.

On medium size planes it's a good idea to run a separate BEC (battery eliminator circuit) when running one battery instead of using the built in one of the ESC.. If the ESC ever fails you will still have control of the plane.
On larger planes it's a good idea to run a separate battery(nicd, nimh, lipo, lIfe) and a regulator if required to power the receiver.

To give you an accurate answer we need more information. Motor, battery size, size and number of servo's.
