Default Projeti Setup Question

In trying to set up Elevons for the Projeti, the manual says aileron and elevator travel should be +- 8 mm or +- 5/8". This is confusing. 8 mm is about 5/16ths. Does this mean I should set Elevons for 8 mm on low rates and 5/8" on high rates? Can someone tell me what their settings are? Thanks!

Default RE: Projeti Setup Question

I'm betting that it's a typo. The manual was probably translated by someone for whom American English is not their primary language, SAE is not their standard of measurement, and math was not their best subject in school. Three strikes and you're out

Anyway, considering the speed of the Projetis I've seen fly, I would have to say that in all likelihood the correct throw is 8mm, for HIGH rates. 5/8" throw would give you a roll rate of about 4,000,000 degrees per second, if it didn't cause the plane to do something weird. For comparison purposes, my old Lanier Shrike had aileron throws of 1/8" and it did about two complete rolls per second.

Thanks Matt. I was going to fly the Projeti for the first time this afternoon. I don't want the controls to be too sensitive. I'll set the elevons to 4 mm for low rates and 8 mm for high rates, then adjust from there.
