Default Bad ESC?

Installed a motor/40A ESC/1300mAh 3S 11.1V LiPo and two micro servos into a plane I'm working on. Bind my Spektum DX6e radio to the receiver, servo's work but not the motor. ESC does not beep as well. With some Google and local hobby shop advice most think I bought a bad ESC. All were bought from Value Hobby, and all are from GForce. What say any of you gentlemen?

Have the throttle and trim as low as they will go. Check that throttle channel is plugged in the correct way. Check that there's no throttle hold or throttle cut turned on. Check the monitor screen to see if throttle channel is working. Some ESC's have to be armed by moving the throttle to it's highest position then put back to lowest position. It might have to be calibrated first. An easy test for throttle channel is connect a servo direct to the throttle channel.

Did everything BUT throttle cut, and guess what happened. Lowered cut to -128 and everything clicked. Now it seems every time I power up, I have to reset the throttle cut on the radio in the functions settings.
Thanks, A.J.

Shouldn't have to make resets on throttle cut after each transmitter power up.
