Great Planes Really Messed Up!
I bought a great planes yardstik and built it to the instructions with all requested sized gear for it. but all the "interlocking" parts were to brittle to bend and snapped.. not a probem just glue em........... HA It dosent fly.......... big surprise that an arf has a little trouble at first.. got a new battery lighter by 3x than the suggested one..... Dosent fly....... Ims orry GP but u really messed this one up...... The plane has been inspected and is built perfectly and should fly........ Ha they woudlnt give me a refund. Anyone else has this problem?

RE: GREAT PLANE REALLY F'd up!
I was afraid of this... Great Planes has a history of selling poorly-planned electric airplanes. I don't think they've gotten it right yet.
All is not lost, though. The plane CAN be made to fly, with a minimum of modification and expense.
Your best bet is to swap out the stock motor, gearbox, and prop for a GWS EPS300C, C gearing, and 10x8 propeller. This is the well-proven Slow Stick power system, and should work fine on the larger recommended pack.

RE: GREAT PLANE REALLY F'd up!
Somebody was saying they e-mailed great planes to ask them about the amperage of a speed controller, and they replied with a "we dont know, hope this helps".
I guess thats why instead of ordering the DC-3 they are making I got the SuperStar EP Arf.

RE: GREAT PLANE REALLY F'd up!
G.P. did mess this one up. Plastic is too brittle, the motor is a dog, and the motor mounts have too much down thrust. I made a motor mount that has zero down thrust and put an ACRO speed 280BB on it. It now flys OK but still needs more motor. I test flew two other Yard Stiks for other club members in stock form and could only get them about a foot off the ground. Every Yard Stik in the club has had problems with the plastic breaking. I don't mind test flying airplanes but not for Great Planes.[&:]

Well I'm glad I'm not alone ! When I assembed this plane I broke the strap they call a motor mount ,the landing gear mount and the battery holder[:@][:@] The guy at the hobby shop recmended a larger battery 750ma [thank you] .I'm using a Hitec feather flight pack and a 10 amp esv
did get one flight about 5-6 min. never got above 20 ft. What a disapointment!!! [&o][&o]
It's going to get a new motor now what would anyone recomend ? I would like to be able to use the
800ma 8 cell packs that work super with my crazy max
