Default receiver crystals

Is there any way to tell if a crystal is Futaba or Hitec? Also can you tell if the crystal is single or dual conversion? Some of my spare crystals have a red tag and some have a blue tag. The red tag says "dual conversion". Nothing on the blue tags. Thank you, in advance, for any assistance.

waiting . . . . . . . . . . . .

I've got a GWS crystal that says 28 and it's got a red tag, it's also for the Futaba shift. Hope this helps.

You can't really go by the color of the tag. None of my GWS crystals have tags on them at all, and I seem to remember GREEN tags on my Hitec crystals.

If I remember correctly, my Futaba receiver crystals do have red tags, but they also have "Futaba" written on the tag.

Figuring them out, if you can, is going to be tough.

I don't see where an electrifly receiver is recommended by Tower, but that doesn't matter. The standard receiver that came with the radio should work just fine.

What brand of transmitter do you have? Electrifly receivers are not compatible with JR or Airtronics, or any AM transmitters.

As long as you have the crystal that is recommended for the receiver, on the correct channel, it should work. I would contact Great Planes product support at [email protected] for advice. You probably have a faulty receiver or crystal.
