battery pack interchange?
Will the battery pack from a Firebird Commander: 6-cell, 7.2V, 900mAh Ni-MH or a 7.2v, 1100 Mah work in a Parkzone J3 Cub which calls for an 8.4 v, 600 mAh Ni-Mh ? Don't want to fry the board. Give me a range of what is acceptable for the J3 if possible.
Thanks you guys. Sure makes learning to fly rc easier when you can ask someone. I'm way up here in the mtns of NC

RE: battery pack interchange?
Less voltage won't fry the board.
Volts are your cubic inches. Going from 8.4V to 7.2V is like lopping two cylinders off a V8 engine. Not only that, but you went from an aluminum block to a lead block (in other words you went to a much heavier battery).
Lower voltage means less power. Higher mAh means more weight. Less power plus more weight is not a good equation...

RE: battery pack interchange?
Thanks for info, Matt. I like that FAQ's idea on the electric subject. I've had my Wingo wired backward and this group helped with that one too. Right now I wish there was a way to tell if the prop is reversed when it does not have writing on the blade. Stuff like this makes RC a bit frustrating at times. Rewards are when it flys. Glad to hear I can use my Firebird battery pack in the J3 Cub.

Bblaske,
I think you should reread Matt's post. Less power more weight = doom for you.
Yes you can use the firebird packs but no they're not going to work.

Sorry, I should have been a little less "creative." I find that most people can grasp electric concepts, particularly battery stuff, better when you draw parallels to engines.
The Firebird batteries are signifigantly less powerful, and signifigantly heavier than the stock J3 Cub packs. They WON'T work well, if they work at all.
