Default Can you get a decent plane for $200?

My brother lives in north county San Diego and can't really fly his gas powered planes anymore (noise, room, etc.) without driving to the marine base or BFE. I want to get him a decent electric plane to fly at a nearby school ground. He has been flying for 10 years and can do pretty much everything. (tricks, whatever.) I don't want to get him some Radio Shack b.s. or some other piece of sh*t. Any suggestions?

P.S. Where to buy it in S.D. county or online would be nice. Thanks...

Here is a website that offers some very good advice:

http://plawner.net/3/1st_plane/

As you will see, the Multiplex EasyStar is the top plane. Hobby-Lobby International carries the plane, and offers two packages, one ARF and one RTF. See below:

ARF: http://www.hobby-lobby.com/easystar.htm

RTF: http://www.hobby-lobby.com/easystar-rtf.htm

I believe you said your brother is a R/C pilot, so you can save the cost of the radio, or get the Hitec and use its receiver and servos. I have one to use for training and it flies very nicely.

Check out the Planes from [link=http://www.mountainmodels.com]Mountain Models[/link]. These are great flying park flyers. if he doesn't mind some assembly. can be ordered with everything but the TX and RX.
If he wants something in an ARF look at the planes in the parkflyer section at Hobby Lobby

I second the Mountain Models idea.

Give them a call and see what they might fit into your $ 200 budget.

An easy build and fun plane for an experienced flyer would be the Panic. It'll easily fly in a space like a softball field or a park. A school ground should be plenty of room.

There's video there on most of their planes. The Panic looks like what you might want for your brother.
