Should a larger size motor ( himax 2812-1080 kv ) draw more amps. than a smaller mtr. , using the same size prop. ( apc 10X3.7 ) I thought it should be the other way around ! !

Its all about the thrust per amps. One expects a larger motor to be able to draw more amps and convert this into thrust. It is probably spinning the prop faster.

yOU ARE 100% CORRECT.
After a lot of bench testing I found the smaller mtr. pulling 11.6 amps. @ 8100 rpm and the big mtr. pulling 13.4 amps. at 9100 rpm.
I should have knouned that !
Another mystery:
An apc 9X3.8 pulls 12.6 amps at 8000 rpm, 10.9 vdc, While a apc 9X4.7 pulls 11.6 amps. at 8100 rpm, 11.1 vdc.
THANKS LWATSON
