Default Servo Speed reducer Help needed

Anyone use A servo speed reducer on a retract servo, I want to slow down my retracts and the guy at HP told me to try one of these but he didnt know how they worked all that well. Any advice on slowing down the retracts would be helpful. thanks

Hobby Lobby Int'l carries a Simprop item that works very well; it's speed is adjustable. JIM
