Hi,
I'd highly recommend "Backyard Flyer" magazine. The December issue that's in the shops right now has details of something like 35 different park flyer electic aircraft.

If you need to know everything, you'll never get into electrics... There's simply that much to know.
The best way to get started is to choose an airplane with a proven track record, and pick up the knowledge you need as you progress.

I fly helis and I need something to burn my money on
(Why is my wife raising her hand) I've been interested in Elec. Planes for a while just didn't have the resevers to buy one. I want to learn as much as possible because I don't want to waste my money like I did when I first got into helis. I just jumped right into Helis back in 85 when the internet was available. So now I think I'm smarter and want to do as much research as possible before I make the big plunge. I have my sights on this plane http://www.shredair.com/pylon.html does anyone know much about it? What is the difference in the motors and controllers.
Thanks

Hi,
Even though you fly helis I'd suggest that pylon racer is gonna be way too fast for a first e-plane. Why not start with something sedate (and cheap!) like a GWS Tiger Moth or SlowStick which are the usual candidates for a good first plane.
