In a period of 20 minutes i managed to gracefully land my firebird commander and my megatech cosmic flyer in 2 different trees. I took the firebird out to fly it and once i had it about 40' in the air i realized that i had the contol lines that run to the rudder reversed and flaps on the rudder werent moving as much as they should. It was one of my best landings ever, i just wish it wouldnt have been 30' up in a tree lol. So i went to the house to get my megatech plane and gave it a throw, flew i around for a about 4 minutes and somehow managed to land it in the only tree in a 10 acre field.

There are times when I'm more distracted or tired than normal and it shows up in the way I fly.
It took me a few mishaps to adopt this rule, but I only allow myself one dumb mistake per day at the field. I've learned that once I've done something not so stellar, the chances of surprising myself with something even more stupid increases.
Strangely, once I adopted this attitude, I've had little dumb thumbing.
