Default Speed Controller Question

I am looking into buying a Castle Creations Thunderbird 18 amp speed controller for my Byp Yak, E Flite Park 370 Polyquest 800 mah combo. My question is does the thunderbird have a soft cutoff or does it just cut out as in hard cutoff. I would like to know this before i buy. Thanks for any response.
