I think you are referring to what is normally called right thrust and down thrust. Placing the motor at a slight angle to the right of the centerline of thrust counteracts the torque action of the spinning motor/propeller . Were it not there, a properly aligned plane would veer to the left (Newton's Law - for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction). The amount of down thrust required depends on the type of airfoil your plane has. A trainer-type airplane with a flat-bottomed (naturally lifiting) airfoil needs downthrust to overcome the tendency of the plane to want to climb on its own. Without it, a properly aligned plane would want to climb too steeply and stall frequently. A symmetrical airfoil (or "flat" wing in the case of most foamies) requires very little downthrust, typically none at all.

wait so should the motor be slid to the right side (motor itself would be straight, however the whole thing would be shifted towads the right), or bent on an angle?

Bent on an angle. Usually (depending on the airplane) just a degree or two is good. Usually a thin washer behind the motor mount "lugs" top and bottom (left side from the "pilots perspective), will do.
