Here is one method.
1. Start with a fairly heavy nylon wire tie.
2. Cut a piece of it about 3/4-inch long.
3. Make holes in it for attaching the pushrod.
4. You now have a control horn.
5. Cut a slot in the control surface, and glue the horn into it.
For best results, make the holes as shown below so the control horn can be mounted at an angle. This aligns the holes directly above the hinge, which is the preferred geometry. You can clip off or round the corners of the wire tie to make it better looking if you wish.
