I just received my FlyCamOne2 camcorder I ordered from Hobby-Lobby.
I thought the camera came with a memory card, so I did not order one.
Is anyone using an SD card other than the recommended FACO Rapid Rush 4.0 2GB card?
I find SanDisc 2GB card for about $8 compared to the Rapid Rush for $29.

jmir,
im just using a kodak sd card from my camera and also a lexar and both work just fine so i would THINK it should work just fine.
well i just remembered i had a small scandisk card in my phone and tried it and it did work, granted it is dark in the house but it worked just fine so again it seems like the work.
hope this helps.

bassmanh,
Thanks for the info. You saved me a few dollars and not having to wait for a card to use the camera.
I can just go to Bestbuy and get it right away.
By the way, I'm heading your way (Germantown, WI) next week to visit kids for Christmas.
Anything you can do to keep snow to a reasonable level for a couple of weeks?
Thanks again!

jmir,
well i will see what i can do about the snow but were starting out with alot already, almost 30 inches in the first couple of storms [:@] .
as far as the cards go i agree with dave, get the fastest one you can get. and i will work on the snow part for you

I got a SanDisk 2GB card, but there was nothing on the specs showing the speed. So, don't know if I got a good one or not.
Anyway, here is my first video taken at our field in Hasty, North Carolina.

Other than prop interference, I thought the video looked pretty good. Would another, higher speed card show improvement?
Also, on my last flight, I turned the camera on and verified it was recording per instructions, however, at end of flight, the camera was off and nothing was recorded when I checked with my laptop at the field. I turned it back on and recorded for a few seconds and it was working OK. Any idea why it would turn off by itself during flight?
Next, I'm going to fly over my home using the photo feature, taking a photo every 4 seconds. That should be interesting!

Well, I rushed and got into Milwaukee yesterday before the snow hit.
Forgot some things in the van and had to go out and get them this morning...... not fun at all!!
At one point, I sank to my knees before reaching the van.
Thank goodness for global warning! Can't imagine what it would be like if our planning was cooling.
