Default Programmable Brushless ESCs, do they have to be programmed?

Just getting back into RC after 20 years. Trying to learn how all the new stuff works.

I see many brushless ESC units labelled as Programmable?

Do they have to be programmed to work or do they work right out of the box?

Is the programming just for tweaking things like timing?

If you bought a programming ESC with no intention of ever programming it, would that be a smart thing to do?

Default RE: Programmable Brushless ESCs, do they have to be programmed?

You have it all. No they do not have to be programmed, they will run as stock automatic. They can be programmed for timings and other advanced features. Good Luck, Al
