Prop for NESailplanes Mamba
I am putting together a Mamba and need help with a prop. I am using the MP Jet 25/35 with a 4:1 a Phoenix 25 and a 3S2100Ma/h
thunder power battery. I know props for 40 , 60 and 1.20 size glow but this is my first E power model. I saw the review in Fly RC and they used a 3:1 and a 10x7 on the same plane with nicads. |
RE: Prop for NESailplanes Mamba
Unfortunately, the only source of information on these motors that I know of, Hobby Lobby, does not recommend a prop for this particular motor/gearbox combo in their description. There's nothing like navigating uncharted waters...
Unless you want to get a Whattmeter and a bunch of props, your only choice is to find someone who has been down this road already. This means you're going to have to "pound some pavement," and poke around in the search engine on this site, other sites, and perhaps even Google... |
RE: Prop for NESailplanes Mamba
On a recomendation from a club member I downloaded Motor Calc and it gave me a 9x 4.5 - 9x6. I had guessed a 9x6 and that is what I will try first if my rec ever comes in. I have both the APC electric 9x6 and the APC 9x6 slow flyer props. What is the performance differences between the two styles?

RE: Prop for NESailplanes Mamba
After trying many different props the one I liked the best is an APC 10x7 Slo-flyer. This E-power stuff sure is catching. I got in a flight on the way home from work last week. All I had to do was plug in the battery turn on the Transmitter and fly. No fuel no tools no hassel.
