Default UMX mig thread.

Finaly got mine. During taxi test it got going to fast and took off, and when it came down it snapped the nosegear. I think the wire for the nosegear is to weak from the start. So I made a new one out of a paper clip, which works much better than the stock one. Its amazing what you can do with a paperclip...

Other than that, this thing just seems AWESOME. Pending flight test, of course.
For those of you who also have it, what do you think about it? What mods can be done? (Besides the paperclip mod) And can somebody please explain the fuss about the "scale working rudder?" I mean, the rudder is divide into two segments, so what?
In general, this is just a thread for talking about the UMX mig. So sit back, get the popcorn, and maybe post.

I got seven flights on mine this weekend. I have yet to fly it with the gear on it, I figured they would only be a detriment to performance. It's very fun, very stable and quite fast for its size. I like this little plane alot.

Flew it twice today, and I loved it. I set my rates on 75% on aileron and elevator, rudder I left at 100%. I was flying so low it was hitting tall weeds and I didn't crash it once.

Me give a BIG "Likey"

As a side note, if you have the 180mah 2s batterys they will work with this plane as well as the 200mah 2sthat comes stock.

I flew it in some pretty strong winds for a plane of that size ywsterday evening, and it flew pretty good. Kinda jumpy but it still flew in a straight line.

I fell in love with this plane as soon as I saw it at my LHS. Problem is: I'm a teenager with no job and no money. Maybe I'll find one used next year, or get it for Christmas, though it's a toss up between the MiG and the Carbon Cub.
