Mike,
Pardon my out of context question...what is the Albatross posted next to your name? I have the comet Albatross....thinking of building a nearer to scale wing instead of the "X" rib configuration used in their "structo speed" technique. Is yours by chance Comet also? Care to share some details?
Thx, Craig.

Craig,
The Albatross D-Va is a DPCModel's kit (http://www.dpcmodels.homestead.com/). It is a rubber powered, stick-and-tissue, Free flight model converted to electric power and R/C. Dave's kits are all laser cut from just about perfect wood, parts fit is excellent, and since he makes the kits up on order, you get a kit that has any errors found by other builders corrected.
Power is from a 2-cell 170mah LiPoly pack, N-20 motor with Kenway 4:1 gearbox, Cirrus Micro-Joule Rx, Falcon 1.7 gram servos (http://www.falconmodels.uk.com/) for Rudder & Elevator, 1 Cirrus M-J 2 gram servo in the top wing to run ailerons. Wheels on the model are from Sam's in the UK (http://www.samsmodels.demon.co.uk/).
Radio gear access is through a removable hatch (you can see it in the close ups). The top wing and hatcha re one piece and are retained by 4 pairs of 1/8" x 1/16" rare earth magnets from ForceField / WonderMagnet.
Covering is tissue, water shrunk on the model, and Krylon clear spray to protect the tissue. Decals are all home made use decal paper and an color ink jet printer.
I pretty much hi-jacked a DPCM deign thread and show a lot of internal and construction details here: http://www.smallflyingarts.com/cgi-b...num=1069362573

Craig,
We just finished up a 'cook-up' (lots of people building at the same time) of DPCModel kits. Check out some of the incredible results in the SFA image gallery (http://www.smallflyingarts.com/4images/).
There are lots of posts in the cook up threads here: http://www.smallflyingarts.com/cgi-b...?board=FFscale
