the zip zaps se might work better cus they have a motor running the servo like steering and the whole section that has the gears for the servo come out of the chassis. also u can have better control over the plane with proportional steering.

RE: Turn zip zap into micro plane?
I have friends in Markham doing just this.
They use rudder only control with throttle to act as elevator. No elevator is needed.
One small lipo approx. 145 mah keeps them flying for an evening.
One magnet & 2 coils are preferred for actuators. Small wire though magnet & coils is used for pull pull system.
They get coil wire from an alarm clock found at a local dollar store. 20 actuator coils from 1 clock.
Hope this helps.

I just finished the transmitter mod on the rc cam website and I have at least 350+ range. That is more than an entire football field; opposed to the 15 feet the transmitter originally came with. I recommend this website http://www.rc-cam.com/microszr.htm build it, now!!!!!!

RE: Turn zip zap into micro plane?
I am currently in construction of a fixed throttle, controlable elevator, and rudder set up on a 12" pattern flyer using a zip zap as my radio...my only concern is short flight times, considering the currently installed(and inaccessible) battery gives the model about a 1.5 min flight time. I am currently seeking a solution.. I will post up some pics if I can locate a digi cam.
