so heres a new thread on the gws pico stick SS version. i went down to the local hobby store today and they had a ss pico stic (slope) for $10 me being me i could not pass it this time as it has taunted me many visits before, so i got the little stick kit and proceded about my sinceless shopping there as i usualy do. once i made it home i dont think that my hands made it to empty before i had started putting the little stick together. i know this will sound as being very over weight but the little stick is a true mule! i hooked two hs-81's and a duel ips system up on a GWS 10amp esc with deans then hooked the 2s 1500HD kokam up to it and a GWS pico4ch rx. once satisfied with my work i checked the cg, wow right on with out even trying. like a dummy and in a hurry i throttled up while holding the little beast by this time it was to late to change the fact that i had forgot to glue the engine mount on the stick and was reaching for the paper towels to catch what blood the floor did not, them apc props are quit sharp when they get you off gaurd. a little bit of glue and a trusty marlboro and i was in the back yard at half throttle it almost leaped out of my hand so i backed off to about quarter stick and gave it a light toss, Magic it flies, now my back yard is large enough for it larger brother the GWS SS but i had to back off the stick and decided to let her glide in to test the glide, the wrights would have been pleased with it, it coasted all of 50 feet before finaly landing on its belly as soft as a feather. flight number two, i get in the corner of the grass and give it another toss off it goes beautifull! pull back on the stick to see where the stall point was and it nearly hovered, i was shocked and pleased. i could not get enough to park it till the morning to get a good flight out of her so i decided to get some alt and dead stick a bit 50 feet up and a shallow dive later the left wing got stressed and snapped!! not good but lesson learned. since this is my first pico stick and i love the fact that it tracked strait as an arrow i belive ill be waiting for the hobby shop to open to buy some new wing! anyone got any sugestions on beefing the wings to deal with the extra weight?
