Default ifo question

Hi, My father bought the mini IFO kit and I am wanting to scratch build one for myself off the plans, the problem is that I cannot source 2mm or .08" carbon rod in NZ I can get the 1.5mm for the rudder and elevons but the only bigger .o8 stuff I can get is fiberglass. My question is, Can I use the fiberglass rod in place of the carbon for the frame, is it too weak/heavy.

Thanks in advance

Mike

You could use glass but it very heavy compared to th carbon fiber. I use .007 and .006" for mine if you can not find another source PM me I can get it for you.
