don't but an air hogs entity
I bought an air hogs entity. My bad, this plane is attractice due to it's elevators. But I bought one and the crappy controller and lack of speed should send this plane back to the drawing board. Oh, did I mention that it shedded a propellor in flight. It is a POS. IMHO, Tim

RE: don't but an air hogs entity
This is the new name for the old air hogs Skywinder.
I was at target and I saw this in the clearance section. It didn't
scan so I took it to a cashier and after a few minutes of him
talking to his boss he said 'If you are OK we can give it to you for
$5 each" I took two of them. Haven't flown yet. Just bought a single wing plane
and trying to fly that. It is a bit different to fly than the aero ace. Whenever I make
a turn it spirals down to the ground. Have to figure that one out.

Hey,
I saw these at my local taget too. I almost bought one, but saw it had the same control stick as the dominator. Glad I didn't.

RE: don't but an air hogs entity
Funny...
I bought one of these yesterday at Target here in Las Vegas. The product would not scan, so they sent a sales drone to the toy section to confirm the price ($49.99), which is what I told them it was. Can't blame them for verifying.
However: Took the plane out for a bit today and am a bit puzzled/disappointed:
- The right propeller (aircraft right) spins at a higher RPM than the left, making the plane always turning to one side. It's barely controllable via rudder adjustment (such as it is) and throttle control. That alone takes the fun out of it.
- Charges fairly quick (7 minutes or so), but that yields only about 2 minutes of flight time!
- Plane does indeed do loops.
Any suggestions on the above items? I'm about to take it back, but am willing to tinker a bit (small bit) to see if I can overcome these issues...

RE: don't but an air hogs entity
Hi guys,
Brand new to RCU.
About the Entity, I have a feeling this reissue attempts to fix the battery issues with the Sidewinder and intends to avert the bad reputation it got as a result.
Check out this article:

I found one NIB on ebay for $20 so I'm going to try it out.

RE: don't but an air hogs entity
I have one of these planes and it's disappointing.
It has LOTS of power, but it's too heavy and flight times are too short. I would like to use the guts to build something that can fly well, and considering that it has an elevator and 2 powerful motors I should be able to come up with something.
Any advice on where to start? I can't find where anyone has really modded this thing out.

heferito, you might create a thread asking for help. There is a lot available here. My first recommendation is find a better battery. Good luck, Tim

RE: don't but an air hogs entity
I've been flying the plane for 6 months now, I dont mind it at all. I got it to fly over 50ft up and about 100ft out. THe batteries inside the plane o bad because they are a cheap and small rechargable battery, so its recharge life drops every flight. The design is for low winds though, its top speed is about 5mph, and it stalls at 1mph. Any wind hurts the performance, because of the aerodynamic design of the plane. I would suggest cutting the forward or backward sweep to see what you get. I suggest using the measurements you can pull from the plane, and put them into some wing simulator such as FoilSim. If you really want to do something avengrande, I suggest building a wind tunnel yourself (look on google for instructions.) Either way, lose some weight in the wings and then you can add a more powerful battery. Also, you'll need to modify the speed settings on the engines, they have to pull faster if you want it to do any balerena stuff.

Heh, use your imagination. 2 powerful motors and an elevator? Try a Hobbico free-flight plane retrofitted with this things elecs. Maybe some gluing and cutting is required, but it works with pretty much anything. Maybe put in a stronger batt, new props, an LED system, and even stronger motors? GWS CN-12's with 3020 props would be sufficient for a 20 inch, 3-oz airframe... Sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself.. Now I want one!
