i get so pissed off when my flights are inturupted by annoying bent or broken tail feathers, i saw some stuff called funky foam and its light enough to make aa tail feathers and you cant crease it or break it. when bent it just pops back in to shape. the good thing about is that it's only $3.00 for 20 18x11in. sheets of it from the (non rc) hobby lobby.

Cool, so you tried it and it works? It must be ultra-light.
I am thinking that the fragile tail feathers is why Spin Master is not wanting to sell the bipe any more (so it seems- I have not seen any in stores for awhile now. The tail issues must cause a lot of returns.)

I would like to give the Funky Foam a try sometime, but there isn't a Hobby Lobby anywhere near where I live. Has anyone found other retailers that carry it?
I am fairly satisfied with the original material, except that it does fail after numerous crashes. Does anyone know where to obtain anything like the original type of material? I like the fact that it is fairly stiff (although this property is part of its reason for failing). It appears to be some sort of a styrene type of foam.
I guess I could use balsa, but I do like that stiff, light, non-warping original stuff.
