RE: Mini XPV?
OK, since I have not found any info elsewhere, I thought I would share my experience with the mini xpv. First of all, unlike the mini storm launcher, I'm not sure it will take off from the ground. Perhaps on a really smooth suface, but on my street it was too rough to get up enough speed. However, I have to say I am pretty happy with the flights I have gotten with it. It is fairly light and the motors seem very powerful. It can handle a little bit of wind as it flys fairly fast. It really looks unique when flying and it kind of reminds me of a flying batmobile. Turns are kind of tricky because if you apply too much turn (or I should say, hold the stick too long in a turn) it can go into a death spiral fairly easily. I have found that 1/2 throttle is good enough to maintain altitude and 3/4 throttle is good for turning with short bursts of the right stick to avoid spiraling. All in all, I was pleasantly suprised with it since the reviews for the big XPV had seemed mixed. Since I still can't get my mini storm launcher to charge right, I have to say to date this is my favorite mini rtf.

RE: Mini XPV?
I just picked up a Mini XPV from TRU today. Looks cool, I hope it flies better the MSL I returned after trying 2 of them.
Do you think it could ROG if you put wheels on it?

RE: Mini XPV?
PERFECT WEATHER IN DAYTON!! My 1st flight of the new MXPV ( TRU $ 29.99 )
REVIEW - This thing "ROCKS". 100% better than the MSL, that would mean the MSL didn't get off the ground, OK 95% better. I.M.O. the MSL is way under powered. I couldn't get it to stay air born for more than 30', it sure is cool looking though, to bad! Even though the MXPV only has 2 throttle positions it climbs on the 1st setting and has a nice angle of accent at W.O.T.. It turns and dives and is a lot of fun to fly. Wheels and lights are just around the corner.

I live in Guam USA in the middle of the pacific I recently bought a lasv by megatech its advertising stated "easy to fly and durable" was that ever wrong!!! within a quarter of an hour it had broken in half the step up control sucks. anyway I bought an xpv and boy what a differance it flies well but needs just a touch of weight in the nose. glad to see im not the only one who enjoys this little plane.

RE: Mini XPV?
I have seen them fly where I live and it does quite well. I haven't found any in the stores though. I have the red T tail bird as your picture, and it flies really good as well! I had to put some trim tabs on the stab so it wouldnt fly in a purpetual stall. Can I get the XPV at Target, or Wal Mart?

RE: Mini XPV?
TO ALL, This is my new favorite, I grab this thing over my AA's when I need a fix. Mod's that I have done are not major but do help.
1. REMOVE the decales and any sticker you can find
2. Move the ant. to the left side ( view from rear ), NOT the middle.
3. Add thumb tack to nose
4. FYI, you can charge your MXPV with your AA Tx. I have noticed great power gains when I charge my MXPV with my AA Tx with 8 2650mAh duracell's.
MXPV's RULE !
I opened on of my MXPV's and the battery looks the same as AA's. The Rx is twice the size of a AA Rx and it has a miny board in the rear the plane. It also looks like there are 3 wires that go to the motors. I took some pic's and will post soon.

RE: Mini XPV?
Just found the forum and thought id let you know a fast led mod. Wal-mart, Target, K-mart and other stores carry these fishing bobber led. Their red with power on and off and last for around 20 hrs. They only wiegh .5 gram together. I put one on each side and it looks and flies great, it gives it just the right added wieght to the front. Their only 3 bucks apiece
ill post some pics soon

DJ, I'm still looking for one. Does walmart carry them? I don't have a wal-mart anywhere nearby, but I have a b-day coming up and my dad generally asks what I want. Given my age this is funny, but if the mini xpv is at walmart I could actually give him an answer. Tim

RE: Mini XPV?
I got a Mini XPV a few months back and it is fun to fly. Only problem is that it is either killing my chargers or sucking batteries dry in a heartbeat. After charging it with the supplied charger/TX 3 or 4 times the charger just quit. I then used a spare AA charger that lasted one charge. Is it simply sucking the batteries down or might it be killing the chargers? Is there a minimum voltage for the TX batteries before the charger quits working? I did try a second set of batteries in the supplied TX with no luck.
