Default FlyTech Dragonfly

Ok, so you haven't heard of it, have you? Here: www.flytechonline.com . If you have, you know what I'm talking about. It's a little electric ornithopter, designed to look like a dragonfly. It includes 2 sets of wings, but they won't break very easily, what with being made of carbon-fiber and plastic film. The eyes are blue or green depending on which color/frequency you get. Descriptions are boring, though, so let's get to the flight performance. It flies well, with no strange tendancies, and in expert mode it feels like a heli in forward flight. I'll go find some vids now, so buh-bye..

I love the Dragonfly I got for Christmas (earned my girlfriend points galore) I can't believe how tough and how "bug-like" the thing is. I've built a SIG LT-40 but I've never learned to fly it. Can anyone tell me if the little Dragonfly is a good way to learn RC flying? Or is it a totally different thing....

Daniel, if all of your batteries are good then the motor is messed up. You could try to return it. I need more info before I can say anything else.

RC, indoors would be a basketball court.

Kelo, this is an ornithopter, a completely different critter. I looked at your plane, that beats my big planes by close to 2 feet. The tough part of the dragonfly seems to be the launch. Maybe I'll try just tossing it then engaging the motor, sorry free thinking there. Once it is successfully launched it is a hoot to watch fly. Like something from a movie.

i love my dragon fly

some indoor and outdoor night flying video of it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URwiWH34QpI

wowwee has a new set of these comming out, I saw a video screen at the 2008 ces with one flying on it, it was almost hovering. I don't know which one it was but I think it was the new fairy or dragon version. It was flying in a very small space and the wings wear flapping faster then the dragonfly version.

in this video about the wowwee bladestar (which is extremly cool, I want one) you can see the video screen behind the guy,
look at it at the end of the video, you can see a new ornithopter flying in a small room, it looks like a bird hovering. If you look at the table with the bladestars on it you will notice a few ornithopters their.

My dragonfly does pretty well in wind if you fly directly into it and there is not too much. I have been very happy with he purchase though.
