Envision kit

I saw one yesterday at Chris Moon's place. I don't think making weight with known equipment and a reasonable paint job would be a problem. Judging by how it flew at the US Nats last year, I would say it flies pretty well. I don't think there is a bad plane out there now.

Thanks for the reply Arch. Unfortunately I've been out of it for a few years and haven't been able to see any of these planes on my own or find out what guys think of them. I'm torn between this one and the Opium. That thing looks huge, though its hard to judge by pics. Envision would fit my budget better.
The CA planes do have reference marks on the fuse for wing and tail placements, right? Can't see any in the pic of the kit, but figure its there.

The Opium and the Envision are pretty close to the same size. I didn't notice the marks on the fuse on the Envision, but then again I wasn't looking. I know people who have put together other CA kits and haven't had any issues with them, so I wouldn't expect it to be a problem.

I've flown the "Classic" swept wing version of the Envision and it flew very nice. You will be very happy with it.
just as Arch has said, if you dont get too generous with the paint and use somewhat lite equipment then you should be fine.

Kit came with canopy top crushed in. You guys think this is repairable. I'm thinking put some glass cloth behind it, sand down and fill. Got it in about 4 places.
Otherwise nice kit. Rudder is built up should be super lite. Didn't think I had gotten one as I was expecting foam.
wings were 7.6 and 7.8oz
stabs both 1.7oz
fuse 25.6oz
Canopy 3.2oz
carbon gear, tubes, wheel pants, adjusters, etc.
Very happy, just wish the canopy wasn't.

It's been done before. I just use some thin ca and the lites fiber cloth you have and fix it from the inside. Try pushing it out as close as possible to where it should be. Then fill the outside with some lite body putty, some prime and paint. The putty I have been using for all my repairs and to fill in the smeem on the fus is DolphinGlaze by U-pol you can get at auto paint store supplier. It realy lite and very easy to snad. I don't know the price.
