theres guys that fly FAI with the torque im sure its not as powerful as others but, for the money ts gets the job done, theres no reason it cant be used up to the masters class, only reason I didnt use it because it was out of stock, so I went with thee eflight power 160, I needed a motor right away

HiMax is a very widely used F3A motor with lots of good reviews. If you can afford the weight, that motor is a no-brainer.

I second the Himax, is a well proven pattern motor at a reasonable price. Also is a drop in fit on the vanquish

Does the Himax motor offer a little more zip in comparison to the Bullet?

I'm not familiar with the torque to actually give my opinion, I do however can tell you I feel no difference between the Himax and the Hacker Q60 other that the himax been more quiet.

Hi Guys,

Im looking to get a new pattern plane and am presently considering the EF Vanquish or Sebart Mythos 125 S.
I,d like to run either a 7s or 8s, I know the Sebart will fly well with these sized packs but my question is does anyone have experience using 7s or 8s packs on the Vanquish?
If so looking for some direction and or recommendations.

thx
Dave

The size limit for F3A competition is 2meter length x 2meter wingspan. Typically pattern planes are longer than their wingspan, so the 2M generally refers to the length of the plane. The wingspans are a little smaller.

I maidened mine last evening, was suprised at the power of the Himax. Never went above 1/2 throttle. Takeoff and uplines 1/2 throttle. Awesome plane. I have been flying the 48" so I felt like I knew what it would fly like. It felt much more locked in which I expected but I did underestimate the power.

What length servo extensions are needed with the recommended JR servos?

Aileron, elevator?

Also, what aftermarket servo arms are recommended for the JR's (elevator servo)?

Thanks

Anything I should know about the The HV equivalents in the JR line?

I have never used JRservos, but I was goin to go with the recommended ones.

Once I started looking, I found the HVequivalents at the same weight, more speed, and just a few dollars more.
Iwould love to run a 2S Lipos direct

Just wanted to see if there is somethingI am missing with these.

Will these work?

DS8911HV Rudder
DS9411HV Aileron
DS3711HV Elevator

I'm curious of your thought process running unregulated? The major advantage of regulated is the planes feels the same every flight. Losing 1/2 or more volts over the course of a day will make the plane feel different. Another reason is most regulators are running fail safe type switches that fail on. Nothing like losing a $1500 or more pattern ship to a $3.99 switch. I run the highest voltage I can get regulated, but will always prefer regulated over unregulated.

Yes, those work GREAT. If you can afford it, the JR MP83T is a VERY nice rudder servo, I've never seen anything center as accurately as that puppy (no pot to wear out) it's a little heavier and has way overkill torque, but it is very nice.

Arch, maybe I am not good enough to notice, but I haven't ever noticed a difference in characteristics over a day of flying with 7.4V powering servos. (my 50cc Slick)

I like the ease of plugging in a lipo direct, one less thing to fail and lipos are so easy to read voltage on. They are very predicitable.

This is my experience, and it has worked for me, so that is my logic.

Oh, and the speed and torque.

I got home today to find this sexy beast in my entry way

My wife texted me that there was a box bigger than her that had been delivered. Now she wants something. This goes the same way every time.....

The craftmanship is very impressive. This is my first Extreme Flight plane, and I am really liking the way it was packed, the work that has been done, overall quality......

Very impressive!!!

Greetings All,
First time here on this thread, Tax Money is IN, and I got the go ahead to get a new plane, I have been wanting a nice pattern plane for some time and looking seriously at the Vanquish 2M, I must say I do not compete but I do like a nice flying ship. I like to go out and try to do the sequences and just have a nice ship that flys like it is on rales.

I would like to ask your help in how I should set it up, motor, esc, servos, prop, batt size ect, in other words help me spend my money. Wife told me I could do what ever I want with this one as far as set up goes so I am hoping you guys will help me pic out the best equipment for this build (cost is a non issue) just want the best set up for this ship that can be had.

Well hope to hear from some of you that are experienced with this ship.

I am starting my build this evening, and Inoticed that the hinges kinda look cheap.

Do you guys recommend replacing them with Robart?

Thanks

Do what you want, but the hinges supplied have been more than adequate to the 500+ flights I have on mine!

300+ for me and the kit hinges are still working well.
I second Peter's motion.

Ok, well Ifound that I do have some Robart in a parts bin, so I think I will replace them.

Ididn't expect my HV120 to be in until early May, but it looks like I have an order shipped from Castle today.

Better get moving on the build.

One more question, anyone still use bullets on their motor? Bullets or direct solder?

Thanks guys
