I'm about to order some batteries for a 2m ship but I'm not sure whether to get turnigys 20c or 25c. Any comments would be appreciated.

Fitst, figure out your expected amp dtaw.  Motocalc is a great tool for that, or you can post a thread here listing your motor/prop combo.  In general, 20C batteries are adequate for most 2M pattern applications.  However, the Turnigy Nanotechs are better batteries than the standard Turnigy's and they are rated fot almost twice as many cycles.  I've flown both and swear by the Nanotechs, so I tecommend the 25C Nanotechs.  I just wish they were available at the US Warehouse.

If you are ordering them from Hobbyking, i'd rather take the Rhino 4900. I think the regular Turnigy batteries are much heavier.

I got 6x5s packs last year and again 4 packs in the spring. The old ones have better internal resistance (~10-15 mohms for the whole 5s pack) but had 1 cell that failed.
The new ones have higher IR (~25-30 mohms) but these have far less cycles on them. Except that 1 failed cell, all the other packs are going strong.

Turnigy Nanotechs seem to be good batteries too, but again for the same capacity they are heavier. If 4500 mAh is enough for you, you can find 25C 4500mAh Nanotechs that are very light.

Also, consider the GensACE 30C 5300's. The set is about 3ish ounces heavier than my TP 5000 G6's. I have a dozen flights so far on a set and they seem to be doing OK.

Here in Australia there have been an increasing number of bad cell or damaged batteries from Hobby King.Warranty is available but they don't make it easy. I recently bought batteries from F3a Unlimited.They are a bit more expensive,but shipping cost is about the same and these were not only packed WELL but the service was excellent and the batteries the best I have seen both in condition on arrival but also in performance,they are light too.I have never used Thunder Power,can't justify the cost,but I have used Flight Power and the F3a are MUCH better. As they say "you pays your money and makes your choice"!!!
Other than a satisfied customer I have no connection with F3a Unlimited.

Chris Moon's (F3A Unlimited) batteries are on sale now...69 bucks. I can't see how that can be beat. These are really awesome batteries.

Thanks Chuck, I saw you using them at the Cajun nats. I also read they have good customer service (much better than hobby king for that matter) which I also like. I believe I'll go with the Sky Lipo's. Now about that field box I won at the Georgetown constest. LOL.

Just an update on the GensACE 5300's. I now have 50 flights on this set. They are still holding up well. I have used these as single packs in my Osiris and in 10S configuration in my Xigris. I just picked up 2 more. They weigh in at 644 grams with Schulze 4 mm bullet connectors. My primary competition packs are still the TP G6 5000's.
I do just make weight with the GensACE packs on my Xigris (carbon spinner and prop, Pletty Advance and YGE HV90 ESC).

Ive been using the 30c Zippys with fantastic results.

Always use the most charger you can afford to buy , a good charger will save your packs.

The F3A Unlimited packs have had problems....thats why they are $69.

A flyer at the field had 2 of 3 sets go bad...within a couple weeks.
