I have used a Multiplex sensor to measure those parameters this last season. it works flawlessly. No need for a timer!

This system works very well for me.

[link=http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__10343__Quanum_2_4Ghz_Telemetry_System_Volt_Amp_T emp_mAh_V3_0.html]Quanum 2[/link]

The warning that this unit sends out increases as more of the cells in the battery begin to drop to 3.2 volts under load. The cost of unit and shipping is much less than what this unit cost, and I don't have to have a TX with telemetry.
