I've seen several different setups for electrics at the field. Setups include power supply, charger(s) batteries all in one container.

How do you guys handle the electric charging equipment in one neat package??

The Harbor Freight case seems to be a common item for these. I have seen them in postings and at contests that was good enough for me to get one and install the gear. I'm actually getting ready to "permanently" mount the chargers in the larger lid and have pm'd the OP of second URL above for some details ahout how he did it.

I think the idea is to get what you need into box in a way that suits you organized, easily used and maintained, tidy, safe, etc. I don't keep the batteries in the charge box. They have a separate house they live in.

I'll take some pics tonight of what my stuff looks like.

Here's what I came up with courtesy of Progressive RC, they've got ALL sorts of parts/pieces to do your own or they'll do it for you but it isn't cheap.....

I think the case is a Pelican, the power supply is a voltage spike tolerant 24 volt 40 amp Meanwell and two CellPro 10XP chargers but no room for storing batteries, that would have just made it too big and I, like you, wanted one compact package for my charging stuff.

Oh, AC power is usually provided by my Honda generator at the field....

Either a deep cycle marine battery in it's own case or a personal generator in its own case
Your charger and cables in itheir own case.
Your batteries in their own case..
I've combined the charger, leads, hardware, misc...into a Lift-N-Lok case for my electric flying and I have another for gas/glow.
Still have my batteries and charging battery in separate case.
Things tend to get heavy and bulky when put into an all-in-one set-up.

My setup lacks a little creativity compared to others, but it was quick, inexpensive, functional, and convenient. Basically:
I got the Harbor Freight box. On the left half, I mounted an Iota 55A PS to the bottom isolated w/ rubber grommets. On the right half I mounted a plywood plate to raise the chargers up a little and tuck the wires under, and have 3 chargers mounted to the plate. The top of the box still has the tool organizer w/ all my connectors stuffed in the pockets.

My PS has leads out the back w/ connectors, so it can connect to a distribution block. If I want, I can disconnect the PS and plug in a set of alligator clips and run everything off another PS or a car battery or something. The distribution block has 4 sets of leads. All connections via Anderson Powerpoles.

I need to add inline fuses for added safety.

Batteries travel in a more robust steel case, and charge outside the charge box.

If I did it over again, I'd use a larger box. The three chargers are a little tight, especially w/ the leads coming out the sides. I would add a little more support to the bottom of the case, but also try not to add too much weight. Maybe a couple of dowels or something.

Hey Guys....I completed my new charging box unsing 2 CP10XPs and a PowerMax 24V Supply.

During practice today my Generator bogged down as I started charging 2 10S packs at the same time. Both chargers stopped with the same error message...Supply Unstable.

When I tried to re-start charging both chargers go in Discharge instead of charge

I found this note in the manual:

"because the CP10XP supports automatic storage charge/discharge to 50%, the initial LCD indication may show DSCHGING for up to 10 seconds, even if a charge was initiated. This is normal."

However, the charger seem to stay in Discharge mode indefinately.

Anyone see this before?

Here is one a buddy mad up for me. It was only 130 for materials and power supply for over 40 amps and 1150 wats at over 24 volts
