Default Castle 80HV Edge alternate

After talking to the folks at Hacker here in Phoenix and the folks at Castle Creations today it is apparent that I need to move on to a different brand ESC.
At the moment, I am using a Castle 80HV Edge ESC with a Hacker A60-7S motor. The motor just doesn't have the power that it did using a 80HV Ice2 ESC.

Both companies confirmed that there is a problem with the Edge products when used with any 28 pole motor. Castle seems to have no idea of when the
problem will be corrected. I was advised not to use any of the Edge products with any 28 pole motor.I am now waiting for my 3rd replacement ESC but I
am pretty much afraid to fly the new unit until the issue is resolved.

I have looked into other controllers but I thought that it might be best to see what others are using. From what I have seen and heard, the Jeti products
might be the best option.

Thanks in advance for your input..

Steve

I would also suggest looking at
YGE and YEP (HK clone of YGE) ESCs as well.

FWIW, I use Jeti Mezon for the telemetry capability with my DC-16.

Jeti Spin 99 or Mezon

I have a Nuance with the same motor, Spin 99, Falcon 21x14 prop and with my heavy batteries putting the plane right at 11 pounds it will jerk it around like a rag doll . The Spin is easy to program with the Jetibox and very adjustable.

I have been using Castle since I started electric. This year I got an OS 110HV for my 2M and LOVE IT. Very easy to use, very smooth, quiet, and cool, and the brake actually WORKS.

I am flying the Plettenberg Advance which I think is 20 poles? I would have to double-check that. But I set the thing up once, looked at the instructions once, and have been using it flawlessly since the first flight. I love it.

I suggest getting the field programmer. I am thinking about selling all my CC and getting more OS.

Jeti Mezon, I'll never go back to Castle Cremations, even with the higher cost.

Hacker Mezon Opt Lite 95 is very reliable and works well with Neu F3A. I have no issue with it at all (with close to 200 flights).

Picked up my new Jeti Master Spin Pro 99 from Kyle at Aero-model. So long Castle... never again!

Castle has killed the golden goose. My Edge would randomly throttle back to about 50%, upon calling castle they told me to not fly the controller due to the problem with 28 pole motors. I have a Hacker Q80-11s. As a beta tester for Castle for the Edge (about a YEAR ago) , the Edge caught on fire in my NEW Episode, returned to Castle and never any explanation of the problems....The motor in my Episode was a Plettenburg Advance. The best comment from customer service was to my question: I plan to attend the NATS do you have an alternative to the Edge? Answer "NO" How do I practice? We suggest not flying the Edge with the Hacker due to the problem that it may catch on fire!!!!! So there is no solution to my problem. ":NO" How can I fly at the NATS...............no answer
I bought a MEZON About 40% more power and bout 5% less battery usage!
As a very experienced pattern flier I am not endorsing any Castle products again.

Do I smell another recall, or is that my EDGE HV80 smoking again?
