Default Sebart PrometheuS biplane

Hi,
Sebastiano Silvestri has a new PrometheuS biplane he flew with at San Marino world cup F3A 2015, July 11-12.
See photos below of his new biplane.

One can only guess if this biplane will be available as Sebart ARF like the Sebart PrometheuS monoplane (that has not been released yet as far as I know).

I like the looks of this plane better than the monoplane version. Interesting vents on the side of the fuselage.
I assume it will be an Oxai collaboration again?
Thanks for posting the pictures.

Really? I wonder what the cost will be? Less than Oxai I am guessing?
Jason M is the Sebart importer here in the USA; I wonder if he has any additional info.

It would be great if the Hera S biplane became a Sebart rather than Oxai product too...

Hi,
Here in Europe for example the large hobbyshop Lindinger has the monoplane of PrometheuS listed at 2.099.99 Euro = US $2279. That is including sales tax (that is 20% in Austria for example).
Here is Sweden a Sebart reseller has PrometheuS listed at 18.690 SEK = US $2162 (we have sales tax of 25% here in Sweden on things like this).

A good guess is that a biplane will cost more to produce then a monoplane, how much more a PrometheuS biplane will cost is hard to say.

Has anyone seen or flown one of these?
Apparently the Prometheus monoplane is all balsa built up fuse but the biplane is a composite fuse
I received an email from Sebart stating that it is available in a standard and Contra version
JRAmericas does not have stock and really doesn't have any information on the plane at all ...

I noticed your post from about a month ago. I have a Prometheus monoplane. I got the only one that was floating around jramericas and F3Aunlimited around November. I actually purchased it from Mike, but they shipped it to me. It is ready to fly but I haven't flown it yet. It is all balsa except for the canopy and cowling. The cowling is glued to the fuse and it doesn't come off. Mine weighs 4800g ready to fly with a himax pro motor. I don't do the contra. It's not worth it to me. I plan on flying it as soon as the weather cooperates. I just wanted something different than the Episodes that I have been flying for a while. It is different!

Hi,
There is a guy here in Sweden that has Sebart PrometheuS biplane and he has flown it.
He use Hacker Adverrun contra system. Link to his post on a Swedish modelflying forum:
Svenskt Modellflyg

If You want to know what he is writing just copyt and paste above URL into Google translator
from Swedish to Your own language. I testad and it works fine.

Hopefully I will see it fly at our first F3A competition here in Sweden May 27-28.

/Bo

Just an update...
I called JR Americas and spoke with a gentleman named Chris.
I asked about the Prometheus Biplane, as there is no ETA or date on the site, just backordered (which has been this way for almost a year now)
He said that due to the size and cost of shipping F3A planes, they currently have no incoming shipments (they are waiting for the factory to ship their next container for winter 2018 delivery ... no Prometheus monoplane or biplane planned in that shipment)
I was a bit surprised, but maybe they will no longer be shipping or carrying the "Giant" Sebart aircraft planes either ... they have to be bigger than a 2m plane.
Seems like a nice looking plane that never went anywhere...

Also, here is a YT video of the airplane flying with a C54 (non Contra) setup

Hey Lewis
I sold a Prometheus Monoplane last fall.
The plane is nice but the owner doesn't like his and is looking for a buyer.
JRA has not had a lot of interest in bringing in the planes.

Here is a link that works:
Svenskt Modellflyg

Just load the link in Goggle translator to translate from Swedish to Your own language.
