Default Biplanes for Pattern - Advantages?

Been following F3A for a few years as a lurker and noticed the increased popularity of the use of Biplane designs for F3A flying.
With the decades of monoplane optimization in the full size world I am wondering about the advantages of the Biplane. That being said F3A bipes are rad looking!
What are your thoughts?

Advantages:
Looks cool
Better knife edge performance?
Fly slower

Disadvantages:
Lateral stability worse than monoplane
Smaller available speed envelope for optimum performance
