Default DxG Contra from Taiwan

Just saw this show up online

A friend at a local field has a prototype that he picked up during a trip home to Taiwan but hasn’t put it in a plane yet (I think he was still waiting on the motor)

I’m not sure what the advantage is for such a motor placement … No belts? Center of Mass? Cooling?

The use of spiral gears allows for quiet operation and an in-line installation of the motor that can effectively hit the wind.

Have 21 flights w/o any issue, very quiet!
I'm using a Kontronik 650-65 outer runner, Flacon 23x20 (F&R) CF props, OS OCA-1100HV ESC.
Performance wide, no difference from the other named brands. What I heard about the advantage of this Contra system is its robustness.
The prototype DxG Contra units were used by Team Taiwan during 2023 World Championship in Australia.
