Default TP-Hacker setup HELP

I am thinking about going electric with me next 2 meter patten ship
I have talked to Don @ Shulman aviation, and i am considering his setup--Jasons Setup!! Hacker-opto TP packs
i am trying to see if thew TP1010c charger can charge 2 packs at the same time, and if so what kind of current on the
12Volt input side it takes to charge both packs from a discharged state?

Also what should i expect from the TP5300 packs for the intermediate Pattern as far as capacity used.

Thanks in advance for the info from a electric pattern NOOB!!

The 1010c will charge 10s (2-5s4p5300) at 5.00 amps about an hour for normal discharge of 3700 mah, READ EVERYTHING it takes a lot of info to get the electric things right and keep them running right, if your going C50 lube gears every 50 flights it's easy and doesn't take long I'm doing mine every 25 flight just because it is so easy. Use the 1010 with the 210 balancer and it will keep things very safe, keep heat as low as possible, and don't over discharge the 2 killers of batteries and other equitment. time flights to 8 minutes. READ READ READ.

Hello,

I'm on my second year of electric pattern and I use the Tanic 5229 (4960 mah) packs and in Intermediate use 2200- 2700 mah depending on ind and long verticals, In masters we use 2800-3200 mah still below th 80% make which is 4000 mah.

As far as the chargers I use the Bantam 902 and if I'm using my car battery I can get a total of 4 sticks charged before needing to start vehicle or have a dead battery, I use 2 radio shack 15 amp power supplies one for each charger. I do some time charge as a 10s pack but I like to do the 5s better.

One thing with the Hacker is about every 50 flights you need to break down the gears and clean a re-lube them.
I use the AXI 5330/18 and 5330/FAI with the Castle Creations HV85 and HV110 with down line breaking program.

Dan Landis (FAI) has some of the Tani packs that are pushing 300 cycles on them.

Hope some of this helps, feel free to contact me direct at [email protected] if you have any more questions.

You might be able to get by with less for intermediate but have to look at future use sense no one knows how many cycles we can get out of these big packs, even at that don't use more than 80% of capacity. You might get some feedback from the NSRCA Mailing list. [link]http://www.nsrca.org/discussionA.htm[/link] from others in that class.

Steve,

What is the process for lubing your C50 gearbox? I'd like to do my own because sending it in to Hacker all the time is a hassle.

Thanks,

Wiz

Mike this thread covers it, difference between comp motor and C-50 are a little different, mainly how the gear box goes on, and off for the standard c-50 you'll need to good strap wrenchs, Verne got his at Sears and they have rubber straps. Thanks Steve!

That thread helped a lot. Someone said there to use super lube. What is super lube? Is that what you use?

No this is a hard to find special grease, you can call hHacker and get what there using at preasant time as they are still testing many different greases.

Well, I doubt seriously I'll have 50 flights on it before I see you guys at Mike Darr's contest. You are going to that one aren't you? If so, I'll ask about the grease again there.

Thanks Steve.
