Data sheet said 565g. The 30-10 Evo is 585, so with less turns (less copper) it should be a smidgen lighter.

Hi Chad,
Thanks I had not looked there , my German not being great.
I see the no load RPM are 230 and 235/min respectively. Do you know what it actually is for the 30/10 Evo.

Its reported at 220 I think for the 30-10 Evo, but I have been told by Diana that the new motors are designed to run the same props as the 30-10 Evo, so I don't expect serious changes. I don't believe they will release a motor that is not compatible with what everyone is currently using!

If all goes well I hope to try at the end of April I think there is only one motor now that Manfred is testing with, but Uwe is going to shorten the stator on it to tame the power.

Please no. More power is good.

I hear it was rather excessive, I am sure Uwe will provide all the power we need

News from Plettenberg:

Look for the 30-09 EVO II motor to be available in a few weeks and will be priced the same as the 30-10 EVO at 460 Euro retail

The Advance 30 F3A motor has an est. retail price of 479 Euros and is in flight testing now (no est. delivery date yet)

My new Plettenberg Xtra 30-9 Evo II arrived today. This was preordered from Plettenberg - Germany. It will go into my Xigris C1. Only thing I have done so far is to put it on the weight. It is 567g.

Will fly it this weekend, hopefully with my e-logger onboard.

Had some flights with my e-logger on board this evening.

Plane: Xigris C1, ESC: Jeti Spin 99 Opto, Timing: 24 degrees, Schedule: Sort of P11

Attached is two graphs - the first prop is a APCE 20.5 x 14, the second one is a APCE 20 x 13.

The RPM readings seems to be way too high - some logging error here.

Bottom line:
Amp draw from this motor is way too high at 107A and 100A peak. Peak power is 3800W and 3600W.
Felt power is awesome, but I'm too worried about my batteries to enjoy it - they get too warm - even in Norway........

Looks like the Kv 0f the 30-09 is two high.

In order for the Eagle Tree logger to read rpm correctly you have to program the number of poles.

You are absolutely right. Last time I used the logger it was with a 14 pole motor and I forgot to change it.

If I multiply the RPM values with 0.7 the max RPM becomes 6720 which I think is right. (14/20 = 0.7)

any updates on this? Experience with 30-9? Advance? Happy?

Plettenberg claims you can use the same propellors. Is this the experience you have now as well?

Volkert,

The new Advance is ready for production, I am hoping to have one fairly soon.

I know of a few people using the 30-9 with 21x14, I think the motor is a little hotter, but with good throttle management is fine with the big prop.

I also wonder about what controller to use on these new motors. YGE-90HV? Spin Opto99?

I have about 60 flights on a 30-09 with an Ice HV80 Lite and a Falcon 21x14 and it has worked very well. It does run a little hot and makes a noise when transitioning from throttle to brake if you have the brake above 30%. Amp draw is really high well over 100 amps but my 40 flight zippy's are handling it. The scary numbers are only on ground run ups and full throttle uplines at the very beginning of the flight. I avoid those but they are fun!

Normal flights with throttle management amp loads are in the upper 80 range and the power is great.

The 80HV lite ran a little hot so I switched to a standard Ice HV80 and controller temps dropped to around 100°! Hope the weather holds for more flying since this set up has made my old Brio a lot more fun!

Anthony,

Any chance you could turn the logging on for the ICE and give us some RPM readings? And by the way, where are you flying now that the main field is closed?

Thanks and hope to see you soon!

Hi Joe,
This is a short flight with ground run up from the first day. Falcon 21x14 and a decent zippy 15c pushing. Around 6600 rpm on the ground and over 6700 in the air. The second is after the switch to the std CC ice. Can't remember which pack but calm day.

Got four flights today at BDS once the Imac Champs was over. I am a member there if you every want to go. Working on another slightly closer alternate otherwise flying my Vanquish at MAAW in Croton.

In Europe championship (in early September) I was told by Plettenberg representative that the motor will be released in a month

Any news on the advanced 30 10 ?
When will it be released ?

Default RE: New Plettenberg F3A motor

could anybody let us know what the names of the Plettenberg motor stand for? They all seem to be a 20 pole design so what is the difference between a 30-10, 25-10 and 25-12 EVO motor?

Both the 30-10 and 25-12 are 220 tpm/V, the 25-10 260 tpm/V. The Advance 30-10 is 230 tpm/V.

how does that compare to the Schibru comments on the new Q80 20P/13S.

G'day Volkert,

I would assume the 30 represents the stator length i.e. 30mm and 10 represents the number of turns.

Cheers,
Jason.

Plettenberg now communicates deliveries of Advance 30-10 early January.
