Prop question

Hello

Ihave a falcon prop 20.5 x 14.5 on the way and was about to order a true turn spinner for it but they don'thave the slot sizeon file. Is there an apc that is similar so I tell them to do the slot that size. I don't want tohave to dremel the spinner after I get it.

Happy landings.

It will fit just fine. I found that the shape of the prop blade as it passesthrough spinner is the same on an APC16x10, as it is on an APC20.5 x 14.5, as it is on the Falcon 20.5 x 14.5. And there is room on both sides of the prop so that the spinner can be positioned without actually contacting the blades.

BTW:tru-turn offers "TurboCool"spinners that include cooling holes. They are available but the web site may not be updated to show them. Call Tru-Turn to order.

I had to recently opened up a TruTurn spinner cut for APC-E props, but that was for the original version APC-E prop to accomodate the same exact Falcon prop. I think APC has since made the props thicker at the hub. It just required very very little filing. The slot was up against the Falcon prop and just barely fit. I just opened it a little with the file to be safe. The APC cut outs maybe larger now than the one I have, too. The spinner was purchased a couple of years ago. You would have to ask TruTurn if they have adjusted the cutouts since for the newer APC-E props. At any rate, even if you get the one they have, you may only have to file one edge a little.

Does anyone know the thickness of the prop hub and a falcon 20.5X14.5? Also what size of prop shaft does it come drilled for 6mm, 8mm or what?

Happy Landings

Drilled for 8 mm

Hub thickness quick measurement with a ruler, approximately 9/16"

Thanks, I got a question if the hole for the shaft is too small can I drill a bigger hole on and carbon fiber prop?
