Default Intermittent "chirping" noise??????

Folks,

Just upgraded to 4s from 3s with Mega 22/20/4 motor, 17T pinion for 1700rpm at 32A at 9deg pitch.
-
Much better aurthority in the air, ALTHOUGH....it will intermittently "chirp" at me, mainly under full collective. (sounds like morse code!)
-
I may have abused the lower mainshaft bearing, when testing different pinions for rpm/current at 9deg pitch anchored on the lawn.
-
Hacker Master 40-3P opto....can this sing under stress?
-
Do bearings make this noise?
-
Please comment if you have any suggestions.
-
Many tks, Steve

yes, bearings can make noise when they wear out. you should take it apart and check them out. if one locks up on you while in flight, it won't be good. it'll end up costing you alot more than the cost of the bearing

Bearings can make a squeeling noise, and that includes motor bearings. Haven't heard that type of noise like you describe.

Default RE: Intermittent

Changed mainshaft bearings....no difference.
-
I have found the problem.......
-
It is my motor bearings!!!!!
-
If I remove motor, and apply sideways pressure, at a certain speed I can replicate the sqeal.
-
Now I am struggling to remove the backplate of my motor.
-
Many Thanks for your interest.

Rgds, Steve
