e-bay import electric helicopters
i am looking into getting an electric heli (feda, ovis vii, aerohawk) and am wondering about the differences between a heli with a board and one with servos. how do these imports compare to a real heli? do they fly forward and backwards well? how about any rolls or loops? i am looking for something to entertain me inside and out and am not into much in the way of aerobatics. i have never flown a real heli but have mastered a few different ones on my sim.
are there any differences between these helis?
thanks

speaking fromt a feda/hummingbird point of view, the are great fun but will not roll or loop very sucessfully.
I practiced as much as i could on sims before my chopper arrived and it was a real help but my feda does handle differently to the chopper sims.

The HummingBird is a bit of a dead end. I have one. It's great for learning to trim, hover, spuddle about etc. When you want to do loops, rolls , inverted you will need to have a collective pitch (CP) heli. The HB won't do this (their is rumour of a forthcoming upgrade kit, though I don't believe it).
The Picolo Fun is just the same, but can be upgraded to CP when you are ready for it.
I ripped the electrics out of my HB and put them in my Pic Pro (plus some additional bits)./ I now have an unused HB. You'd be better off buying a Pic fun and then going from there.
Also, the import kits come with crap batteries, and sometime the TX has the controls set up the "wrong way" round. Be careful.
