Default Your Skylark modifications

I am interested, and I’m sure other Skylark owners are as well, in any modifications people may have made to their Skylark, that has improved the hovering and other aspects of its flight characteristics.

It’s obvious with the changes incorporated in the Aerohawk that there where some issues that needed addressing but this does not help those like myself that already own a Skylark.

I have included a pick of a very simple battery holder that replaced the original one when it fell of in a not so graceful arrival. (I could not call it a landing)
It’s just two 120 mm lengths of carbon fibre rod held in place with black cotton with a drop of CA. The cello tape will get replaced when I get some smarter looking electrical insulation tape.

I know there are commercially available mod kits, but with the costs involved and with the original intention of the Skylark being low-cost and entry level, I am more interested in the homegrown variety.

Cheers
Katipo

I was talking to a friend last night and he said that he had cut about 3 to 4 mm from the root and tapering down to 2 mm to the tip of the trailing edge of the main rotor blades. It seems that this helps to keep the head speed up a little and smooth things out. Has any one else tried this?

He is also running an 8 cell pack and that seems to make a big difference.
