Default Piccolo AR Link - Proper Hinge Play

I have a FP Piccolo and have a question about the Anti -Rotation (AR) Link. I understand how important it is to have all the ball links in the rotor head move very freely but with no slop. I have installed the PMP upgraded AR Link, and noticed that the hinges in the AR link ( and in the stock link I replaced) are fairly stiff and do not move freely. Should they? If the answer is 'Yes", how do you free them up? Do you squeeze them with pliers in the same fashion as the ball links?

Thanks,

Dwight
