Default Odd things happen when flying in the cold??

Do any of you fly in cold weather? Have you noticed anything odd about how your heli behaves? When I fly indoors all is good. But tonight for a change of scenery I tried flying out in the garage with the doors down so there was no wind. The garage is considerably bigger than any area I fly in the house, but my DF was all over the place! It was behaving like I was getting wicked rotor wash, but I wasn't near anything? My batteries were perfectly strong, had tons of power, and the radio was fine. Came inside, it flew fine. It's bout 6 degrees outside, that's the only thing I can think of. Any of you ever notice anything like this?

I have experienced problems like you describe with my Hummingbird. My problem was with the crystal gyro. One short coming of this type gyro is it is temperature sensitive. You may have to let it stabilize a while in the environment you are flying. Even then you may have to re trim the tailrotor.

I always leave mine outside for a couple minutes before flying, otherwise it is nearly unflyable!

Good to know. So I can leave it out and get to temp a bit b/f flying, good deal. This may be dumb question, but when you leave it out to get use to the cold, do you leave it powered up? Or is ok to just have it out there w/out the battery hooked up? sorry for my newbieness

Hi

How I wish my chopper can experience that problem. The only I can experience that is to put my chopper in the fridge for 1 hours. In my place, the coolest temp u get maybe only 21 degree celcius... in a very very very and long raining day.
