Ive got a Stock FEDA Dragonfly which came with a 700 mAh battery pack. The Charger that came with it 9V / 0.2 Amps so I have been charging it for 3.5-4 hrs.
Ive just bought a GWS 2002 Microporcessor controller NiCad and NiMh Delta Peak charger.
How many Amps should I charge it at, given the manual says it auto cutouts after 90 mins. I thought you shouldnt charge these batteries at more than 0.3 A but that means it wouldnt charge within the 90 mins.
Should I be charging it at 0-5 or more Amps ?

Ni-Mh should be charged with 1C charge current, that means 1 x the the capacity of the cells. With a 700mAh battery you should charge at 700mA charge rate. Mst Ni-Mh batteries can handle 2C though and that's how I charge my 700mAh battery (2C = 1,4A charge rate).
At 2C a completely drained battery will take 30 minutes to charge, but since they are never completely drained it takes a little less time than that. I usually charge for 20 minutes at 2C. If I have to wait a while to fly I charge at a lower current, for example if I charge while I work and fly in the breaks.

Hey tahustvedt
Have your batteries been giving you as good of run time as if they were charged at 1C?
about 5-6 minutes flight.
I hate waiting around for 1 1/2 hours and I even have 2 batteries to cycle through. I have to get more...but I'm thinking about 2cell kokam 1500s

Get some extra motor to, because u will burn it if u that aggressive of flying....
or at least brushless... Anyone know the actual improve of a brushless... is it like a stock motor is Civic engine compare to a brushless motor is like Viper engine?

I accidentally charged my battery at over 2 amps (twice actually, don't ask!
), and I think that damaged one cell in the pack. It now runs fine for about three minutes but then drops to ground effect and stays there. I got 7-minute flights up until I (think I) broke it though. Maybe it just needs some deep cycling as I have been lazy with decharging them. I have ordered a 2s1p 1200 Etec Li-Po so I don't worry.

Hi all
That GWS 2002 Microporcessor charger is one of the best charger for NiMH/Cad. There are 2 condition it will go from quick charge to trickle charge. The condition are:
1 - When it reaches 90 Minutes
2 - When its peak voltage reached.
So if you set your current higher, it will charge faster (No... I don't think u kill it yet) but it is not fully or optimum charge. It is now charge in trickle mode. So to get full charge, let it charge in trickle mode till next day.
If you set too low current charge (lower than 1C), the 90 Minutes will reach and u will not get full charge.
