Default DIY ESC's

Hi All,

Being a tight english man - I've decided to build my own ESCs for my second heli (Dragonfly), how difficult could it be?

Anyway a bit of research found quite a few DIY ESC sites:
Brushed
http://www.webx.dk/rc/ecs2b.htm
http://jaichi.virtualave.net/minireg2-e.htm
http://jaichi.virtualave.net/speedy3-e.htm
http://jaichi.virtualave.net/spdy1684-e.htm

BrushLess
http://jaichi.virtualave.net/speedybl-e.htm

Personally when I saw the simple design and price of Thomas Scherrer's kit (first link), I thought why bother designing the pcb etc.
I have emailled the guy and await confirmation of my order. Imagine having an ESC that you can upgrade by just adding more FETs!!

Hi

If you have all the equipments and component ready, I don't think it is difficult. Just solder properly and u ready to go.

The difficult part is designing your own ESC but now since u have the schematics, I don't think it is difficult.... provided you can find all the electronics part needed to.

Yep,

Soldering isn't an issue (Qualified TV Service Eng.) and I also have a PIC programmer from my Sat Hack days - the only part was (like you say) the design. Building it from the scematic is no problem.

Just thought I'd share my findings.

Steve.

Helifreak,

I have just ordered two kits from the web site direct email [email protected] in Denmark.
The cost for two 1 FET kits was 21 euros including postage (as cheap as one GWS ESC)

No problem Zeeshan,

I will post my finding, just waiting for the money to upload at the moment (21 euros = £14.23 = $25) for two 10Amp ESC's!

Zeeshan,
It's the speed controller on it's own. (Not 3 in 1 receiver, ESC & mixer)

Helifreak,

Click on dowload partlist and read the word document in the zip file.
