I have an electric lmh corona helicopter and im having a little problem with the tail
it keeps whipping around, (like i've given it full right rudder control), and i cant figure out whats wrong
the receiver has been changed, so its not a glitch
it seems to do it more toward the end of the battery pack, but theres still plenty power left to fly around
anyone?

On my Cornona's first flight, I had the Gyro installed upside down. It is the GWS PG-03 Gyro. It did the exact same behavior. The Gyro was hurting my flying, not helping it. Once rotated to the correct orentation, It work just fine, for a GWS gyro.

Hey mrlpow,
Did you ever solve this problem??? If you did, lets us know, Because my Corona 120 is doing the same thing now! At the end of the pack the thing whips around and I still have about 35% power left in the pack. ............[X(] It just started doing it today.....

i never did fix the problem
im running a completely stock setup, are you running anything fancy?
i was told that it might be a bad capacitor on the motor or a servo motor making causing noise and sending it back to the receiver

No Im not running anything fancy, I also have a stock set up, But however I did solve the problem and I hope your solution will be just as simple! It turns out that the set screws on the tail rotor (The long set screws that hold the tail rotor to the tail rotor hub) Were loose, causing the tail rotor to slip and decreased tail RPM, therefore not holding the tail in place! So the tail rotor lost it's bite on the air. And yes it acted like yours, as tho it were given full right rudder! Even if it were an electrical problem, for me it dosent matter because I plan on gutting out the whole stock electrical system anyway and going with a Li-poly / Brushless motor combo anyway! I just need to figure out what components to match up and oh yea Were's the cash comming from too..............

Yes I know about the $400 cost, I came out with the same estimate! I may go with just li-polys with the same fusion 7 motor, Have to do some research and figure this all out........

careful about how long your flight times get though, those motors burn out real fast if you dont let them cool down or even switch a different 20 dollar motor in before flying again

no dice with those screws, they were tight as can be
i have noticed after i land, however, that i can hear a servo moving without any input, obviously this is now the problem, but im not sure why its happening, seeing as how the motor is not turning and no other servos were moving to make any noise, any ideas?

Well, It's definitly an electrical problem! Could Be a bad Servo, The Servo that's Moving by itself with no input, Is that the Servo hooked to the tail rotor? Or is it another servo? These Coronas use BEC system so it may be happening at the end of the flight because thats when the power pack may not have enough power to hold everything under control, and the bad servo starts acting up. Did you say you changed the Receiver already? Get back to me, let me know I want to try to help U solve this problem....

the receiver was changed because i figured that was the problem, it was not. it appears to be only that one servo, should i just try changing it?

Well, Servos are not that Exspensive, So I would give it a shot and change it, Especially if its the Rudder Servo, Was it? But I would change that twitching servo anyway......[&:]

yeah, it is the rudder one, ill change it, i still think its weird because its a good, new futaba servo and ive only heard of servo's going bad by completely not working, not random glitching
hopefully that will work, its really annoying and makes precision flying very difficult

Well It's possible that the servo could be a defect from the manufacture, and Glitching is possible with a bad servo, remember your dealing with electronics here, Anything is possible! Some of these electronics almost have a mind of their own............
The Servo is the only suspect left with this Corona problem, It cant be a bad Receiver channel cause you already changed the Receiver. The Corona is acting like You've given it Full Right rudder, and Now the RUDDER SERVO is acting weird, It's gotta be that defective servo screwing things up!!! Let me know what happens after you change that servo, I'm 99% sure that's your problem, If however it's not the problem then I would suspect the Transmitter next Giving off a faulty signal to the receiver and rudder servo, But Let's Not go Their Right now.....[:'(]

hah, i'm 99.9 percent sure its the gyro now, i just turned it on with the transmitter sitting next to me and watched it for about 5 minutes, the tail would go crazy every once in awhile without me touching anything, and sometimes it would move to full right deflection and stay there for seconds at a time, then i took the gyro out of the circuit, and it was solid as a rock
this would obviously make me think its the gyro, but am i not thinking about something else it could be with those same symptoms?

Well That would explain why the Rudder Servo was twitching, It just may be the gyro! If You look through this Whole thread I was the one whom told you It was the gyro from the start.............
